    M17x R3 Gameplay Videos

    Figured I'd be useful and upload some gameplay videos with FRAPS in the corner showing FPS.. Videos will mainly be to show performance while playing games.

    All recording will be done with my camera outside of the computer so that performance is not effected and true FPS can be seen - Most videos will look like this:

    So far I've done BFBC2 (Uploading Now) and I'll be doing BFBC2: Vietnam next.

    If anyone wants to see anything just ask, I'll be uploading videos and editing the original post as new ones come up.. All will be rendered in 720p for you guys and all gameplay audio is output for the camera to record from the laptop speakers (to hopefully give you an idea of what they sound like)

    BFBC2 Vietnam uploaded, black ops almost done downloading.

    Let me know how the bfbc2 vietnam quality is.. I rendered the bfbc2 one but just directly uploaded Vietnam. Quality looks the same and file size was half of what the BFBC2 video was but I want to BE SURE it looks okay.

    It would be interesting to see the difference in frame rates between the 2720 and the 2820. Can anyone use the same settings in those games but who has the 2820?

    Got a REALLY nice black ops video where I absolutely dominated.. Someone also stole my chopper gunner :(

    Uploading now.. PLEASE NOTE for this video I used my old cod4 .cfg which limits my FPS to 125.. This computer can push MUCH higher than 125 in this game.

    Everything medium except textures (which is max)
    2x AA 4x AF

    Those are default "Medium" settings when you select it from the menu - All high was too low of FPS but thats to be expected. All high made my DESKTOP i7 920/5870 choke hard too.

    The rest of the games shown are all max except for AA which isn't really needed.. 1920x1080 pixel density is so high that I seriously can't see a difference between AA on and AA off.. If I was using this on my HDTV though (1920x1080 with giant pixels) I'd definitely have to turn AA on.

    Also: Just added black ops to the vid list, forgot to add it when it uploaded.

    Can you do a video of Dirt 2 on max settings and on 1080p? Also, during the game, drive like crazy to create lots of dust/smoke and stuff.

    Please also, can you comment on your system's temperatures (cpu and gpu) after running the game and driving crazy (to create stress on the computer) after like 2minutes of gaming?

    Also, I think it's funny cuz everyone who puts up a video of gaming in a fps game, is always really good at it. Hehehe. My videos will prolly show me failing at various video games :p Yes yes, I'm too embarrassing :p

    I was playing around in Sony Vegas 10 and figured I might as well make the framerate easier to see for you guys... Videos will now look like this.

    Dude you have no idea how refreshing it is to see someone show off their gaming hardware without sucking at the game.

    Most of the times its some guy showing off his triple SLI rig and getting dominated all the while telling you to focus on the frames he's getting. Nice job!

    My M17x can max out BC2 (1xAA) easily tho. FPS ranging from 35-70 IIRC.

    Thank for the video and + rep. If you can do AC2, Mafia 2, Shogun 2 and soon enough Crysis 2, it would be great! The 3 games you demoed are not demanding ones.

    Darn! I have just wasted about 20 mins of my life trying to get Crysis 2 demo to work just to find out that Crytek has shut down all the servers. The demo is expired. I haven't even played it yet :( Just a head up for you guys to save your precious time.

    The screen is 120hz, which essentially means you won't see anything more than 120 frames per second regardless of how many frames the game is rendering.

    DO GTA 4 !!!! and Crysis 2 demo!!! PLEASE!!! :)
    But this is weird. I had a Asus g73 and I maxed out BC2 on my HDTV @ 1080p and although I got about 15-20fps that rig was much weaker, a 5870 and a 740qm .... Can you do a video just for the heck of it, maxing everything out please. I think thats the most important part. to actually see the m17x r3 topped out

    You should check for driver updates and such. That system should not choke on high settings. My R2 runs over 60 fps on all high, 16xaa and 16xaf with hbao on.
    I run 80-90 on high with 2x aa and 2x af with hbao off.




    Only if your using vsync. I run up to 130 fps (spikes) in certain places on a 60hz screen

    You're also using crossfire cards, the performance is right where it should be and drivers are fully updated.


    Just because your computer puts out 130FPS does not mean your display shows it. A 60hz display will physically display a maximum of 60 frames per second.

    I was under the impression that the sandy with the 6970m was very close to my setup. I'm assuming thats not true??

    True the panel can only display 60 or 120. I was thinking rendered frames, which fraps displays. (-:

    I haven't been able to get the game to load any servers and now its released.

    Gaming vids are pretty much on hold until I get my replacement. I've been waiting almost 2 weeks and its just now gone into production today (with no EDD) so it'll be a while. I might put up DiRT2 but thats going to be about it.

    No man :) If you have 60hz screen it can not physically show more than that refresh rate, and your eyes will perceive physically 60hz, even if your hardware renders it at 120 and fraps shows actual rendering, not the refresh rate of your screen

    Use Fraps to display the FPS. For recording you can you Fraps or CamStudio but:

    Don't! You should not do that because it will affect FPS quite a lot. Using your phone, throw it in a clean and clear glass if you don't have place to hold it firmly. Then record in good lighting condition. That is good enough for us :D

    I appreciate all of your posts, but we (me mostly) prefer to see a benchmark score on default settings,FPS score in some games like Crysis, GTA IV, Test Drive Unlimited 2, SC2 :)

    I use Fraps, recording at 90FPS ( for having less freez) but the clips is about 3Gb for 2mn, so you need to convert it (like 25fps and chose other format) before uploading it.
    I fail when i upload crysis2, I will make one right now in HD.
