So on day two of my m17x r3.... Having played bfbc2 for a while I decided to connect my ps3. For those of wondering how.... It is super simple :

STEP 1: switch on M17x and boot into windows
STEP 2.: connect Ps3 to 17x via HDMI INPUT PORT on the same side as the dvd drive.
STEP 3: Turn Ps3 on and wait and the screen should automatically switch to the PS3 LOGO..

    Review
    1.1080p supported which is awesome
2.Sound is great too thanks to the 17x speakers.
3.The screen works pretty well and is not at all choppy, but the colors do look a little washed out (very little... As compared to my Cinema display that I usually game on but then that can only go 720p cause of the kanex adapter limitation.
    4. The quick access buttons on the top are really handy for controlling sound.

Overall it's a great feature to have..... And imagine sitting at a airport with your Ps3 and laptop and be able to game. If anyone has any questions about the super simple setup you can ask me right here. Couldn't find a similar thread but if there is one these can be merged.

I think the HDMI in feature is great but it is implemented utterly poorly. The image quality utterly sucks... Subjectivity and opinion aside.

My mom's Toshiba Regza 37" produces better images from the PS3 signal, and that TV's panel is failing lol!

Unless mine has a fault, good job I don't need to utilise it other than out of curiosity. :)

I play Modern Warfare 3 on it at work all the time. I think the image looks pretty good, given its an xbox game.

Have you guys purchased a better HDMI cable? I found that using my crappy one from meritline was what caused crappy images. Someone (a lonnnnggg time ago) on these forums recommended that I upgrade to mediabridge hdmi cable (bought it from amazon.com), and tada! Slightly better quality picture, but definitely wayyyyy better sound.

I think this is a good idea to a point. I think if you buy the right $30 HDMI cable (look at the bandwith specs etc) it can look/sound just as good as the $100 cables that many stores will push on you. Bestbuy is Notorius for this with the dang $100-150 monster cables and the $150-200 "power centers" that provide "clean power". Clean power my foot...

Anyway, my point is, before you go and spend $75 on some 6ft cord, do some research. You may find a more reasonably priced cord that is in fact of similar quality. I dont know how true this logic is when you get up to the cords that are like $250 and up however...

I have a cheap HDMI cable in my case, and the quality is really good.
I have not seen any differences with a 2, 3x more expensive cable.

I wonder how much of the problem is just the PS3? Seriously...if you start doing side by side comparisons, its kind of pathetic. I cant even watch my brother play Skyrim on his PS3...it makes me ill it looks so terrible.

And I am not somekind of PC elitest either...its just that when you start doing side by sides like when you hook your PS3 directly up to your awesome gaming laptop...things become more clear as to just how much of a difference there really is.
