    Hi,

I bought mine with lowest possible RAM from dell which was 4gb.

Now I want to upgrade to more RAM by myself. I bought 2 sticks of 4gb each = 8 GB.

I know there are 4 bays. Is it okay to leave the current 2x2gb in and then put 2x4gb in the other 2 slots for total of 12 gb?

As in the 4 don't all match. Does it matter which slots I put the 2x4 in vs the 2x2? Are 1 set used as "Primary" source of memory?

    Thanks!

You'll be fine, I have 12gb in mine, different speeds too. The motherboard will just run it at it's lowest speed/timings.
