HI Steven, I saw your original post before the edit... (which I have to say I preferred :p ). If you still have concerns about the R1vR2 page then I am more than happy to discuss them in PM.

Not sure what you mean. Looks like a pretty fair review...gives me even more reasons to be patient while my order awaits the corrected chipset. Really weren't any surprises. I always expect new tech to outperform old tech.

I was glad to see some performance reviews regarding the 3D gaming with the 460m. If it's already struggling with current 3D games, it might not be able to play next year's 3D games at all (maybe on low settings).

I'll either get the 6970 or wait for a direct upgrade to the 460.

Hmmm I see struggling in 3d on highest settings possible...with lots of optimization to come with future drivers (as 3d tech performance is thoroughly learned). I imagine (can't say for sure yet as I await delivery) that all current games...that are developed to be played in 3d...are more than playable at settings that are well above acceptable.

Now when forcing non 3d games to work in 3d, I would fully expect to take a significant performance hit.

Either way, it's the cost of being an early adopter. Sure, we can all wait for 3d to be perfected before we even try it, but by then there will be new tech and 3d will be old news...
