Hey guys, I've had my r3 for about a month or so now used almost exclusively for the last few weeks of classes and finals, and a little bit of gaming.

Aside from the very annoying issue with the control bar (changing volume etc) minimizing every game or full screen application thanks to the poorly implemented OSD, and the very cheaply designed and poor quality rubber coating over the laptop, there is one issue that I'm contemplating returning/exchanging over.

The plastic shield that I'm guessing is a screen protector, is covered with dozens of mini scratches and blemishes, all throughout the screen, and I've even noticed that the portion of the screen that closes on top of the volume control bar is not only covered with dozens of scratches, the paint itself on the metal near the control bar is also scratched off in dozens of places.

Apparently the screen protector isn't recessed enough to keep it from riding against the keyboard at all times, so any form of dust particles or debris that find their way in there will permanently blemish the screen..

Has anyone else, who actually uses this laptop as a daily use laptop for school/work not just a desktop replacement, had this issue?

I'm really trying to see whether I should get a replacement, or if I should just send it back and wait on a new g73 that isn't plagued with design issues.

Strange, my keyboard has a buldge and yet I haven't noticed any scratches on the screen. Then again I haven't actually looked.

I havent noticed any keyboard issues as of yet, as a matter of fact I'm quite satisfied with my keyboard as I've already typed over 40 pages of essay's on it and it seems much more accurate than that of my previous laptop - G73SW

Most laptop keyboards scratch/damage screens. It's recommended to keep a felt cloth to keep them separate...

Just have them come out and swap the top panel

    Ok thanks Neptune.

TBH this is the first laptop I've ever owned unless you count the g73SW I had for 16 days before they recalled it for the sandy bridge 1st gen issue.
