I have had my R3 for two weeks now and there is one thing that is really making me want to return it. The buttons on the touch pad are lower than the touch pad so my fingers are allways catching the sharp edge of the pad.

I have a xps15 which looks to have the exact same touch pad and buttons and they are raised above the touch pad.

I guess what I am asking is if anyone else notices this?

Maybe post up some pictures of your touch pad.

Mine are like that too I've never thought of it as something wrong with the device. Regardless, if its hampering usability for your particular style of computing then return the machine; I've seen 2 so far and both their touchpads are like that I think that's just the way they are.

Mine's the same. It's really annoying especially if you have dry hands like mine, cuz it digs into my finger tips, which can be kinda annoying sometimes.

Use screen protector firm to cover it. Or mouse as alternative.
