Just got my rig 2 days ago, so i'm still exploring it. I wanted to add facial recognition software. Webcam only functions when I boot up "Live Central", which was factory installed. Fn + F9 only works while that program is running. The facial recognition needs the camera on upon initial boot up for automated logon. I was linked in with tech support for 2 hrs, and they couldn't solve the issue. Any ideas ????

Try to remove the Alienware software. Then, remove the webcam driver.
Then, reinstall the webcam-driver through Windows update. Finish with reinstalling the Alienware Software.

Solved the issue for me a year ago, at least..
