    When I try to start the webcam with live central. It says "The webcam is being used by another application" while its really not. I have tried reinstalling drivers and it didnt help.

    guys is it possibly the face recognition sw ? sorry if that doesn't help

    you might also want to go into task manager and try shutting down a selection of processes and see if it helps

    Go into Live Central's settings and be sure the camera source is set for Integrated and not FA.

    there are some limitations lol :D :D :D

    when I use my sony camera it's amazing what it locks into as a face - nobody in the center of the frame has a face according to the software lol

    there is a thread where this chap has used it with great success, he suggested it might be a newer version, might be worth chatting to him

    can't find the thread lol you'll need to do a search through yourself

    It says "integrated webcam", and still get the same message that webcam is being used by another application. :mad:

    I found the solution:

    1. Open regedit
    2. Open the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
    3. Make sure the value of UpperFilters contains ksthunk line. Add it if missing.

    In my case Kaspersky Internet Security has overwritten this with its Device Control filter. As well when uninstalled it left extra empty lines in the UpperFilters values for other classes, so I had to go and manually remove them - otherwise some of the devices appeared with the yellow exclamation mark under Device Manager.

    i had the same problem as well, to overcome it, i press FN+F9(camera key) to disable it, then press FN+F9 again to enable it. works perfect after that.
