    Does anyone know or have a link to a review of the 360/PS3 being played on the R3? I've heard issues with the HDMI in and quality of the screen and looki g to read an extensive overview of it. I have both a 360 & PS3 and would love to be able to hook them up to an R3 so I could have all my gaming needs in my backpack. Also if anyone here uses their R3 for console gaming too and has an opinion that would be great.

    Cheers.

    Actually, I just got done usin my Xbox 360 on my M17xR3 and it worked perfectly. I have been searching for the thread to let other know about it and I think the fix was the latest Intel drivers I got from the Windows Update, but I cannot confirm.

    Otherwise, I have no issues at all. Played Borderlands with another Xbox 360 for 4 hours and worked totally fine.

    I also use the HDMI-in to play my Xbox 360 quite a bit. It works very well, I've only had two very strange "quirks" in the months I have owned this laptop.

    1. Occasionally I'll fire up the Xbox 360 and I won't get any sound. This is rare, but it has happened to me twice or so. Rebooting the laptop fixed this.

    2. Once I fired up my Xbox, and the game display was "mirrored" ... it's hard to describe what it looked like (and I wish I had the sense to record it on camera) but it was like looking through beer goggles. Everything was "ghosting", as if there were two transparent overlays over everything.... but not aligned correctly. Rebooting the laptop fixed this.

    Both of these problems are "startup problems" ... If you start the Xbox 360 up and nothing glitches out, you know it's gonna work for hours on end. This is just my personal experience. I've never had any display/audio issues while playing. It works like a charm.

    Oh and if you have the 3D screen, the latest nvidia drivers break HDMI-in. This doesn't not apply if you have the normal 60z screen.

    For the ghosting problem you dont have to restart. Just pull out the HDMI cable and plug it in again.

    @darkdomino:

    So if I was to get the 3D M17X, the HDMI in port won't work?

    Yes and no. The problem is the more recent nvidia drivers break the feature. You are forced to choose between game performance and HDMI in.

    We have confirmation that nvidia is looking into it, but that's it as far as I know.

    Use it for playing PS3 for several times. my only problem so far is only in sound output. Sometimes it come out, sometimes no. This still happen even I already switched the default sound output into HDMI input. Try several HDMI cable, but it happen randomly no matter what cable that i used....

    this happen also when I using a HDMI out. One way to fix it it's just restart the laptop..... or plug in and pull out of the HDMI cable.....
