On the last intel chipsets there was evidence that SSD drives were not being fully utilized as they should and the speed was suffering. Has that flaw been fixed with the new chipsets?
Does the Radeon graphics switching work without needing a reboot?
How much battery life will the m17xr3 get on the igp with wireless on and screen brightness down to 10%? Can I pull 5 hours of web surfing and note typing?

Sorry changing the 1 year basic to 1 year advanced warranty with accidental damage protection. I change laptops often and in April 2012 ivy bridge should be under way or close to being under way so I'm not going to pay for a 3 year advanced warranty in case i decide to upgrade to an ivy bridge laptop next spring. Upgrading to the advanced 1 year warranty adds an additional 70 to the price making my total 1830 -1400 from selling my current rig = 430
2x4GB 1600Mhz Kingstown Hyper X $85 buy.com with coupon
256GB Crucial RealSSD c400 via SATA III $425 (256MB DRAM to cache, sequential read speeds of 415MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 260MB/s, 50,000 Random 4k iops
So 510 for ram and ssd upgrade and 430 to upgrade from my envy 14.
So yeah I'm gonna spend 940 to upgrade to this beast but so much faster a nice big screen and looks to be getting better battery life even.
Plus in a year when Ivy bridge comes out I can sell this and the value of it shouldn't depreciate too much and I can get the latest and greatest then as well. -
Where did you find the c400? I'm looking forward to the OCZ Vertex 3.

Very nice upgrade for a good price. The only thing I would recommend is getting the wifi card from somewhere else such as newegg to save even more money. If you want that is. And you should be able to get 5 hours of battery life. The next day after you order, you could also press for overnight shipping. I did and got it free.
