This happened to me three times in the last hour. :( This is my 2nd r3 because they replaced my old one before. Maybe I'm thinking that I might be bumping my coffee table then the hard drive parked its head. How do you deactivate that?

And one more thing. The first time this happened when I was playing CS-1.6. It just froze and made some small popping noise then a little bit of buzzing so I just pressed the Alienhead logo for 10secs to turn it off. Then the second time is when I was just making this thread. Good thing my Google chrome saved what I typed. Then the third time is while I was about to submit post my thread. Then when I booted up again, Its weird that my google chrome setting was back on default and my skype's username and password is also gone. Is it my harddrive?

type in your search bar under the start menu free fall data protection. It should pop up. If it is enabled, disamble the option, restart and see if it will help... If you think that does not help, try to change your hdd with a spare one and see if that will solve your problem.

Mine doesn't have that option IIRC, might only show up if you have the capable hard drive...

I have see those drives "fail" within weeks because the sensor is broken...Pretty fail technology IMO.

Thanks. Would try to read that. But how come their laptops blue screens. Mine just freezes. Hopefully that would fix that.

if your laptop is freezing (no bsod, no restart - just frozen until you force power off) then, from my experience, you have an issue with either
    1. sata controller, or
    2. HDD/SSD I/O physical damage or defect

what HDD/SSD are you using - in which mode, and with which driver?
ie - momentus slim RAID intel RST
