    When I use my M17x R3 on battery when gaming, the battery becomes crazy hot. I don't know if this is normal or not?

    Is this a side affect to such a large battery draining fast?

    is the laptop plugged in? if that worries you, you can take off the battery and keep the laptop plugged in when you are playing games..

    I think at is pretty normal as you have said for a large multi-cell battery to heat up when discharged quickly.

    Maybe a few others cal test their R3 units for similar behavior. I know my e1705 which does not use as much power as the R3, but is still pretty power hungry would heat its battery pretty hot when gaming without being plugged in.

    I am using the M17x R3 on a cooling pad with active fans, and the battery is running real hot when I am gaming. I still don't understand why the battery gets so hot when discharging? I would think that the heat output on the entire battery must be close on 60c easy, if not hotter.
    I have been searching the forums and the web, but cannot find anything about any laptop battery become hot when discharging. Is anyone here sure this is normal?
