I have a M17x R3 that was purchased around 2012. I really like the M17x r3 for several reasons. But my video card was dying so I bought another one on ebay.

It arrived and I went through normal steps to install it, yet once everything was buttoned back up and I connected power. I got nothing. No post, no video, nothing.

Can some of you give me an idea where I went wrong. I have been reading through various forums and threads but have yet to find out why it wouldnt post or give video. The guy I bought it from had it on a M18x and says it was working great.

So any help is certainly welcome.

No beep codes either? Very weird, there are a lot of things that can cause issues with a 680m in an R3 but I would expect it to POST or beep at the least.

Have you removed it and tried to boot without the GPU? As long as it's not a 120hz model it should fire up on the Intel.

I removed it then reinstalled my old 580m fires right up, no problem. Yet with the new card no video, no beeps.

I reinstalled again today, got 8 beeps no video. Tried doing what I read in another forum holding down FN key. It looked like it was going to work but still no video and 5 beeps. Any help that can be offered is welcome. The guy I bought card from says its working great, so I was wondering if maybe the BIOS in my machine was causing issues its the A12 version.
