I just wanted to give my compliments to my m17x. this thing is the best comp i have had the pleasure to work on to this date. I use alot of computers at different places for different things and this is by far the quickest, most powerful comp i have yet to use in either a laptop or desk top config.

Thanks alienware for making a killer computer. the features are great along with the customization possibilities of it with lights and such. I change mine daily to something different just because i can. lol

i know ive said this before but after having this for 3 weeks it is definitely a nice computer. i get alot of compliments on it also but it isnt super flashy either. sleek yet stylish design.

well worth the 1700 bucks. I got a sleeve on ebay that seems to be a bit tight but it works very nice so far. I have only used it a couple of times so i am sure it will stretch out a bit. the zipper has enough space not to rub on the edges and it has handles on it. however the handles are inside so it wont zip all the way shut with them out. its that one, overall decent quality for the price i guess. as long as my m17 is protected i dont care about how much it costs, though i cant afford a $150 backpack that would be the ideal case for carrying it to school and such with me. I dont take it every day so it isnt a big deal.

Thanks for the input. I was going to pick up an r3 but got a good deal the M18x and haven't looked back. I would pick up an r3 in a heartbeat though. Just cause my M17x r2 battery life is horrendous.

This is more than just a laptop for me. I bought this to take my mind off things in life.

It's done a great job so far.

:D still super happy with it after a month or so of messing with it. I am going to buy a game to play on it just cause i feel guilty of having such a nice computer and only using it for word and google chrome every day lol.

Checked my scores on the windows thing a bit ago so i figured i would update the thread here. 7.4, 7.2, 5.9 :D pretty nice to see stuff that high, i never thought id have a laptop that would score like that.

    Steve

If i had a ssd the 5.9 would be much better. thats ok though :D

    steve

can i use the over clock thread to go into the bios at the beginning and overclock this to 2.9 without dling much? I would get the monitor mentioned, would there be anything else needed?

    steve

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...-2960xm-cpus-m17x-r3-without-modded-bios.html

mines not a 29 series, is there an overclock thread for the 26 series stuff or is it basically the same thing?

    thanks,
    steve

having a laptop that owns most ppl's desktop = priceless ;p

being able to bring this to tournaments n stuff across europe is handy, being able to practise on a machine that is able to pull proper fps is just pure win. And it fits in a backpack :D

Next to dominating at gaming it looks pimp aswell, like having a ferrari that fits in a bag :p

still loving the r3! it is def nice to have with me at school when needed and it is by far the fastest thing i use even on full battery save. lol I get well over 4 hours out of a battery with msn, skype, outlook, and chrome open just about all 4 hours worth. i get almost 5 if i only have a couple of those running at a time.

the screen is great for anything that isnt a screen shot from the computer. the res isnt very good for screen shots. lol pics look great otherwise, they just dont full size when making them backgrounds. they have to stretched even at poster size. lol thats about my only issue with it so far.

my first game is going to be mw3 i think when it comes out for computer. :D i was going to get bf3 but dont have the coin right now for it.

loving my r-3 I've had since April. Still waiting for my 6990m to get here but oh well. Now i just gotta buy an SSD and figure out a cost effective way to put in a 1080p screen ;) other than that I love this machine to death. Only thing i would rather have would be both an M14x for school and an M18x for highpower gaming. :D one can wish hehe

Man i just cant get over how awesome this thing has been for me. It blows my hp away in every aspect of quality and performance. I know the performance was the internal choices made but the fit, finish, and quality of this thing is great compared to any hp i have found.

This is the best laptop/desktop I ever had, I had 3 desktops, 4 laptops until I hit m17x, finally I feel like I found a brand which I can rely for future purchases (I really don't wanna jinx it :)) but this machine is a beast + portable, indeed priceless... :) Thanks Alienware / Dell !!!

still loving it every day! this thing turns heads, gets compliments, and is the sickest computer i have found talking to most people. this week i plan to get bf3 or mw3 if its out for pc and see how it really runs with some gaming and such on it. Im also going to buy solid works 12 next month so i can start practicing on it again for when i start working full time as a mechanical engineer this spring.

i only run about 13% of my ram daily, the most i have ever seen my meter is up at 16% for a few minutes when i was working on a bunch of documents and such all at the same time. :D i feel bad that im not using it to do anything but search the internet 95% of the time.

ill have this for a long time and just add to my arsenal in a couple of years and get rid of my hp comps.

Alienware laptops are awesome... totally agree. Especially the M17x and M18x products.
