    Hello M8s!
Got my alienware M17x R3 notebook two days back, was working perfectly.
This morning I made backup dvds succesfully for recovery and after that I have problems in my sound and dvd drive.
    1) Dvd drive not accepting any disk at all. pushing it in and drive pull that back.
    2) sound is extremly slow. even in headphone it is extreamly slow.
I updated my sound driver from dell with no success, Then I downgraded sound driver to v 6314 IDT. NOT solved
I reinstalled win 7 from backup recovery to fix the problem, again NO success.

Then I run dell test software which check the whole system. all tests are passed even for dvd and sound.

    Pls help me regarding this.
    I'll be highly thankful.

Same issue here with the dvdrom. Im trying to insert a cd or dvd, and it wont let me. Seems like the motor that sucks the dvd in, is dead. Its impossible to get the cd inside. Even so, the dvd drive is recognized in the bios and windows.

call dell and get the DVD drive replaced. They will send someone to replace it
