Alright... so I know for a fact this has probably come up may times before lol, but I don't think I've seen anyone talking about the two newer models. So I have a budget of 2000 bucks, 100$ more at MOST for a backpack, but thats not too important right now.
So I've been going back and forth reading up reviews, watching youtube videos, game play videos, reviews of both of these computer's previous models (For the alienware I looked at the alienware m15x since it was more affordable, the asus I looked at the g53jw) And I've been going back and forth over and over and over between deciding on the two. The alienware? One thing i really like about it is that it generally looks alot easier to upgrade.... while you gotta take apart most of the asus to even put in another HD.
I also went to the store and felt up both of the computers(lol), and the asus had a nice little rattle while the alienware felt pretty well built. But now with some people saying there's more plastic in it, things got a little bit harder for me lol. Anyway, the alienware also has a small bit more battery life than the asus, but the asus has better cooling apparently. Personally I'm really leaning towards the alienware right now, the m17x R3.... even though it lacks the dual gpus. I want to make sure I'm future proofed for games like crysis 2, mass effect 3, deadspace 2, and alot of those crazy racing games with wicked graphics. And I've been wicked excited for tommorow, I really wanna see how I can customize the alienware. I was also wondering, do alienware laptops last a long time? I'm probably not going to ever overclock because I am paranoid lol.... but I'm wondering if it'll last a good 4 maybe 5 more years, since I've heard laptops burn out blah blah blah. But anyway, I'm just wondering if I can get a good system to play all my games maxxed out for 2 grand that looks cool and runs cool even. I've been lurking these forums a while now and thought I might as well make my own post and be able to add to the discussion, anyway thanks guys!

I imagine this thread is going to be closed since you are not posting it in the right section which would be "Which laptop should I buy".

Since no one knows for sure the entire specs of the M17X R3 and no one knows what kind of power the R3 really has than all your questions cannot be answered and you have to wait a few weeks until someone gets their hand on the laptop to test it out.

You're comparing a 17" aw to a 15 asus. You should be able to compare the specs from aw europes site and google the asus specs.
