Hey guys, my Gpu stopped working out of nowhere once again, they already changed it once when it was under warranty. But now I no longer have the warranty, I got a quote of $620 for everything parts labors etc. But I found a great deal on Ebay, GTX 670M Gpu for $260, but I wonder if it is going to work on my laptop?

Yes, the GTX-670m will work in the R3, and it appears to be at a decent price, too.

Excuse my newbiness, but I made some research on this site, and some people mentioned that when you change the gpu you are going to need new heat sinks as well and stuffs, is there anything more I should know about it or can I just buy Gtx 670M and replace it?

Since you had an amd card you need a new nvidia heatsink. When did they replace your gpu and when did your warranty end?

My warranty ended like 6 months ago, and they replaced it like a year from now. Thank you for your help but where can I find the nvidia heatsink? I found one from amazon but how do i know that its the right one or are they universal?

I ordered a 580M heat sink right from dell for my 680M...took the black tape off the die and it works like a charm. I think I only paid $65 or something like that from dell and had it in a couple days. it came with the x-bracket and includes the thermal pads.

You will also probably need to use a modded driver in the R3 as it was not sold with that config. Not a biggie, look here for the modded ini file: LaptopVideo2Go: Drivers
