As some background information, I have been pampering my m17x R4 since I received it in October. Bags, sleeves, etc - I have desperately tried to keep it clean and safe, despite the warranty that I purchased. I use the computer mainly as a portable desktop replacement; I like to game, while still having something that I can take back and forth to college, use for homework and other work, etc. Everything seemed fine with my laptop until last week.

I started to notice that when I was playing World of Warcraft and while strafing or moving in the game, the image would sometimes seem like there were striations in my field of vision. I have had no problem playing on Ultra settings, but for the sake of finding out what could cause this somewhat minor, yet annoying, problem, I turned all of my settings down, etc. I tried playing with a different version of Direct X. I updated my video card drivers, despite the fact that I traditionally live by the model that if something isn't broken, I don't want to fix it. Still, these striations or tiny vertical "lines" (and I use this term loosely, it's not quite lines, but tiny vertical striations) occur during movement - first it seemed at the bottom of the screen and now it seems toward the middle and even the top. These are faint. In fact, I almost hate complaining about it, but it aggravates my eyes and it makes me irritated because I have treated this computer like a baby and I spent so much on it that I WANT it to act as it was previously. The game looks spectacular when I'm standing still and sometimes when I move, but I am noticing this often when I am using a mount and flying through the air, etc.

Part of me wonders if these problems were always there and I never noticed them? I don't think so, but hey! Does anyone have any ideas or things for me to try that might help this problem? I will be starting my second semester of this year in a couple of weeks and I hate the idea of sending the computer off for repair when I will actually need it.

My important specs are as follows:
    i7-3720QM, 16G DD3, 3D vision bundle monitor, 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA Geforce GTX 680M, and 750G 7200 RPM HDD.

Thank you all for reading this and I look forward to any replies.

Update: After trying Netflix, I see this same problem from time to time.

That could be a GFX card hardware issue, have you tried updating your graphics card drivers?

You can test it out by using a game where you see this then using MSI afterburner to reduce your clocks and seeing if it goes away, if it does you are looking at a replacement for the graphics.
