    Hi,

    I've been trying to manually control the fans of my M17x R4 with Hwinfo64. It only seems I can contorl my GPU fan and not my CPU fan. Whatever settings I have for the CPU fan, they don't work on it but work on the GPU fan. What can I do so that the settings either work for the CPU and GPU fan or only for the CPU fan? I even have the respin time at 100ms to force this but only my GPU fan is being affected. My CPU is overheating because of this in games...

    Thanks for your help

    don't think you can change cpu fan speed..

    i'm doing this fan mod right now.. fan is arriving today

    M17x CPU Fan Upgrade/Mod (2CFM->10.4CFM)

    *UPDATE*
    mod completed.. ran intel cpu stress test.. 4 cores @ 100% utilization, average core temp i saw was mid-upper 80s.. huge improvement!

    if you plan to do this, no need to purchase any thing other than the fan..

    break off the metal tabs first by bending them until they snap off.. cut or dremel the plastic tabs off.. but KEEP the metal brackets you just snapped off.. they can be re-used to secure the new fan in place..

    there will be some extra space on the round side of fan, just roll up some electric tape and fill up the gap. secure the fan in place with the 3 metal brackets from old fan and a little electric tape to seal up the fan/copper pipe connection.. (see pic below)
