Currently running a GTX675M, Core i7 3630QM, 8 Gig Ram and looking at what card upgrade to go for down the line.

This being my first Alienware I'm cautious as to how easy it will be to upgrade the system with a new card, so I'm looking for any advice on what would be the best card to go for and what are the best steps to go about installing it.

Any advice at all would be great.

    Alienware M17X R3/R4 GPU Swap - YouTube

it is pretty easy to do so
just get a better paste like IC Diamond or Arctic Silver 5 for the new one

as for a graphics card, i would recommend a 680M as it is verified to work with R4
and if you have a 3d display, that probably is your only option!

you can go for a 780m but i haven't seen much people with that in their R4s, will wait a few more months and see

congrats on your new beast! Enjoy!

And you also have a cost effective option of AMD 7970M
going by the latest driver fiasco by nvidia

i would say that 7970M looks a MUCH better deal!
    performance is ±5% at 680M

I think it depends on the game, some favor the Nvidia more then ATI.
