    M17x R4 w/ 7970m - can't get over 20fps on FC3 on minimum?

    3740QM (2.7 O/c to 3.7 Ghz) , 7970M, 12gb 1600 ram, plugged in on high performance.

    FC3 is barely playable, my fps is like on 20 which is horribly choppy, whether i keep the settings on minimum or medium it makes no difference, when i put it on high that's when the fps drops to like 17, and ultra just brings it to like 2-5fps. I've updated all my drivers. I don't know too much about how to handle drivers and stuff and i had a dell technician on the phone help me set-up my pc.

    If anyone could please tell me how to fix the fps problem step by step and not just link me to different forums i'd love that. This game is AMAZING so far, i played from the start to like half an hour in when i captured my first base, then the game just crashed and i had to restart it, but it didn't autosave throughout. which is another problem that makes no sense to me. I can't even find an autosave option.

    Help please? I ran a system check and i got 7.7 processor, 7.9 RAM, 7.6 in graphics and gaming graphics w/ 5.9 in Hard disk (500gb 7200rpm w/ 64gb msata)

    sounds like you are running on integrated graphics. i dont know much about enduro or optimus as ive never used them but i think you need to hit f7 and reboot, or it may be fn plus f7 and reboot. im sure someone else will chime in a sec with the details.

    Looks like you are just running on iGPU. Currently there are a lot of driver issues on 7970m for FC3 barely utilizing the dedicated graphics. Fn+f7 and reboot to switch to manual dedicated graphics and you'll good.

    while you are at it, try updating to the 12.11 beta, you will notice significant fps gain compared to the older driver

    Okay, i'll try the fn+f7 thing, also, i ran PCMark Vantage to check my system score, it's on 11296, is that good? I paid close to $3k CAD for this laptop. I'm going to try re-running it because my screen resoluton is set at 1920x1080 while the test was run at 1024x768 (free trial).

    no thats not good. you system should be getting 20k+ in pcmark vantage. try the fn+f7 and see what that gets you. try running 3dmark11 as well.
