As the title says, is it possible to actually install the Rx 480 and/or Rx 580 in the Alienware M17x R4, it might be a silly question as most of you might say that the 1060 will work better or 1070.

Now I am curious if its actually possible, but does the M17x R4 have eDP or does it allow LVDS/eDP switching through Enduro/Optimus like on my Clevo P150 which has a eDP 1060 card running a LVDS display.

I heard someone mention that the M17x R4 requires the 120Hz display to have eDP not sure whether this is true or not.

If anyone has any knowledge it would be great as I am looking to acquire one out of superior keyboard experience, if anyone has gotten the W7170M working it would be great to know as well.

It's possible but with the heat output and power consumption you're better of getting a 1060 or 1070.

It's better for you to get the edp display panel, no need to fuss with optimus or enduro.

Can't see why the W7170M wouldn't work - maybe not with native fan control though as its a dell card.
