I recently got my R4, and was curious and noticed that i have a integrated onboard gpu and a discrete 660m gpu.

How can i tell which gpu is working during game play.

Hi Shrek, specifically during game-play it will be easy to notice; just look for the frames per second. There's also software( GPU-Z) that can tell you on which GPU are you running. Maybe even creating a profile on Alienware Adrenaline could help?! Let us know :)

Make sure your switched to your discrete card (FN+F7). Then I'm not sure where in the Nvidia control panel you need to go to select the High Performance Profile for the game's exe. In AMD CCC its Catalyst Control Center, Power, Switchable Graphics, Other Applications and then browsing to and selecting the game .exe for the game in question and then applying the High Performance setting over the Power Saving setting. That forces the game to use the discrete card.

Adreniline doesn't give you an option to switch gpu's. I had to the fn+f7 for a couple of games.

Try Alienware Command Center (AlienFusion). You should have an option in advanced settings to set the graphics to high performance or maximum performance.

If the right fan is blowing hot air out the exhaust, you can bet the GPU is working.

XXSHREKXX, open the NVIDIA Control Panel, and try going to 3D Settings, then Manage 3D Settings, and then the Program Settings tab. If you click add, you can add the game or program you want to have the discreet graphics run.
