    M17x R5 - screen replacement, help!

    I need to replace my screen.

    Last night broke the desk, which was my alienware, and this is the result:

    My screen is this 17.3 inch (439.42 mm) 120Hz WLED FHD (1920 x 1080) TrueLife w/3D

    Dell gives me some high prices

    450 € per screen and the technical

    320 € per screen and shipping.

    210 € per sceen ( without 3D )

    I'm looking for ways to fix it, know any seller (in Europe)?

    I have seen these two models on ebay but put R3, and that confuses me.

    with 3D

    I would try to make sure everything goes well by using the DELL method. Have you asked for a possibility to send the computer to our repair depot? After this you may want to upgrade the warranty and add complete care coverage.

    According to the Alienware 17 Owners lounge the part number you are going to need is GN36T which if you search ebay for that part number comes up with a whole bunch of screens matching that part number from $115 new plus shipping.

    I thought CompleteCare cover had to be purchase up front with the machine? That's what I was told by a Dell rep awhile back, wouldn't make sense to sell a 400 dollar ADH warranty after a 3000 dollar soda spill?

    Also I thought the 3D models had a different motherboard (usually 50 pin), I think you need to buy a 3D screen..

    You can only acquire complete care before 30 days pass after the original purchase. Regular warranty is a different story. :)

    The connector end on a 3D screen cable has a screw on each side of the connector that plug/screw into the motherboard.

    hello, I have an alienware m17x r5 full hd, with a video card 880m. I would understand if it is possible and how to put a screen lcd 3d. I have seen from your signature that you have done an upgrade could not find anything about what I have to buy more than the LCD, the cable I have is fine, or I have to change that too?
