    Is it supposed to be defaulted at 60?

    When I goto settings just shows "Generic PnP monitor" I have the latest ATI drivers

    I just received my m17x today
    5870's 1920x1200 (1200p)

    Any ideas?

    Yes, that's what you should see.
    60Hz is a standard for non-3D screens.
