I just got an M17x R1(yes I know I'm behind) and I want to know if I can change JUST the LCD? Did anyone ever do this or attempt successfully? If so where can you get the screen? How difficult is it? Is it sealed(for sure)?

29 views so far and not one single response!?

As far as I know, you are not able to change the screen to the amazing RGB LED screen from the M17X R2.

Though I remember reading a post about someone working on it.

I know you can't do the RGB, but all I want is the 1920*1200 CCFL.

You can do the rgb it has been confirmed to work on this forum. You could just install the screen of either the ccfl 1200p or the rgb led you just have to take the cmos battery out and do a power drain for the rgb to work.

at a price of $ 1000.00+ the RGB Screen is not worth it IMO

Cheaper to sell what you have and order it with a new system
