    Hello everyone,

I bought my m17x a few months back and yesterday, I was cleaning the screen and I actually cut myself on the top of the screen where the edge is. Its nothing bad, i found the whole thing quite funny, being attacked by my alien laptop, but I was wondering at the same time if its meant to be that way. The top of the screen is quite sharp infact, and both upper corners have small pointy areas where the aluminium case ends that create quite a sharp edge.

my friend has an M15x, which has a slighty different design, and there is no sharp edges at all on the top of the screen/lid.

I was wondering if this was common or it might be a manufacturing problem?

    Thanks :p

    Ian

Yeah mine has it as well. They're pretty sharp and can easily cut you. Dell should have rounded those corners out.

Ouch. Have you tried sanding them down a bit? Be wary though, if you do do it... Might scratch the screen if you aren't careful.

I dont intend to sand 'em.. i'd be too worried about ruining something.
I was really just wondering if it was normal, its not like its a life threatening thing its more like a paper-cut haha.

Unfortunately, it is normal - while it certainly looks cool, it isn't the best design in terms of sharpness (literally). My m17x has the same issues.
