After removing the center control cover, the console ribbon came loose from the snap down connector latch. After putting the ribbon back in correctly and placing the cover back, the laptop will not boot up. There is no bios screen and it stops any start up process with the caps light staying on and the num lock and scroll lights flashing. Pressing any keys just results in beeping.

I had also removed the keyboard to check on the video cards but did not disconnect anything that was attached to it. Just wondering if something could have inadvertantly been disconnected or if the console ribbon from the center control cover could have been damaged when it came loose.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

IIRC, that's the LED error code for the LCD. Try reseating the LCD cable.

Problem resolved. Checked the LCD cable and found it had come loose. Reseated it which took a while as I didnt want to break something but it did take some pressure to get it to click back into seat.

Rebooted and everything started up. Thanks for the help!!
