I ordered my alienware on November 4th of this month. I just called dell because my ordered had not shipped yet, i had an expected delivery date of November 22nd. The dell rep informed me that my laptop has been set back until December 20th at the earliest!!!!! !!!!!! Excuse my rage. I asked for free over night shipping and they tell me that they don't do overnight shipping to Canada. I was wondering if anyone has had this kind of experince with alienware laptops in Canada? I did not order anything insane:

    i7 740QM
    8GB DDR3
    2x 5870m
    2x 500GB HDD raid x0
    1200p screen

Yet in another post I see people in the UK, USA and AU getting there laptops in a week of order. Seriously I'm about to cancel my order. Anyone have any advice?

It might mean that they are about to release the M17x R3. Not sure.

I would have loved to have gotten mine within a week, but you should expect a bit of a wait regardless. Mine will be arriving tommorow, and has taken roughly 3 and a half weeks to come.

I'm ok with 3 and a half weeks but 28 business days?!?! They won't even give me over night shipping or a reason why its backed. Just, I'm sorry but you have to wait longer. 7 weeks and 3 days is kind of over the top when people are waiting at the most 3 weeks like you did.

Just an update, i received an e-mail from dell finally informing me of a deal in my shipment for no apparent reason. Only thing is the dell rep on the phone said my new EDD was December 20th but the site and email now say January 10th as my EDD? This seems like overkill, especially when my friend ordered a m17x on November 2ND and got his yesterday. He had SDD put in which say may cause a delay in shipment date. The lovely people at dell have no idea why my order is delayed! I'm seriously considering canceling my order and never going with dell again!

It took about 10 days to get mine when I ordered in September.

The Dell reps usually don't know much besides what is written in the notes on the account or something.

If you keep asking different reps, one might be intelligent enough to look deeper or get better information for you.

As far as canceling your order, well, sure, if you don't really care about having an Alienware and are just fine getting another brand.

Delays happen and we can't really do all that much about it.

If you do actually want to get this laptop, then a month or two wait is not so bad considering it will last you a few years. Unless, you need a laptop like right now.

Well I have great news! After fighting with seven different Dell reps I finally got someone from north America that knew something. He told me that a hold had been placed on my order for no apparent reason. He fixed the issue right away. I also got a free 920xm upgrade and over night shipping :D !!! Guess if you complain long enough you get. Still don't know why the hold was placed on my order.
