I just got my m17x, so I put in my 120gb Sandisk Extreme SSD and re installed windows. When restarting for updates it will blue screen for a split-second after it says "starting windows", then restart. It will continue to keep looping. What do I do?

Edit: The computer passed all tests in diagnostics, but the Hard drive failed short DST tests. I ran it again on "thorough" and it passed. Computer still blue screens. I swapped RAM, no effect. I am going to try to pull the cmos battery.

Download and run WhoCrashed ( http://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed), click on the Analyse button/tab (upper left corner) and then scroll down for the results. It will usually tell you which driver(s) caused your computer to crash and in some cases suggest a solution or topics to research in search of a solution. Very useful utility.

Or, if you can't open Win 7 normally because of the blue screen crash, try starting in Safe Mode (F8 at the boot screen and select Safe Mode). Did you install the chipset driver and various component drivers after installing Windows?

    The computer doesn't start whatsoever.

Edit: CMOS battery did not help. When I start into safe mode it also bluescreens. I am now reinstalling windows on the SSD.

Sounds like the only logical response. Good luck. I'm sure you know, but be sure to remove all partitions and reformat before a new installation.

Now after windows is installed on the SSD, and it starts fine, is there a sequence of drivers to install in order? And what drivers to stay away from? I installed them all. If it does not startup with the new installation, I should assume the SSD is bad?

Edit: When installing, I always delete every partition and leave it all as "allocated space", select it, and Install windows.

When installing the Intel Ivy Bridge HD 4000 driver, I get a "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software" and the Intel integrated graphics are not detected in bios.

I've seen this before when you switch hard drive mode between ahci and raid in bios after windows install. System will crash because you don't have the correct driver for system to boot.

Anyone know the problem with the Ivy Bridge HD 4000 driver?
