I'd like to install a better CPU. A i7 possibly. What would it take to do it. Thanks for your time!

it would take a miracle: core2 duo and core i series run on a different socket.

Well you won't be able to install and i7 because the R1 and R2 have differant motherboard chipsets. As far as your ad though, I would strongly advise you to review the following posts. As far as upgrading the CPU, the best CPU you can install in your motherboard is the Intel QX9300, which when combined with the program Throttlestop, is a beast.
