    Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you had any recommendations about how I could make my laptop turn off it's lights without actually turning it off. When I go to sleep it lights up my room like a christmas tree so I wanted to do something so it doesn't do that when i go to sleep. Any suggestions on things I can do?

Put the laptop in to stealth mode. It will turn all the lights off and consume less electricity.

Change the advanced power settings to turn off the lights when needed.

How would I do that exactly? I tried doing that and it didn't quite work.

Press the far right touch sensative button above your keyboard.

    What about Fn F11?
It allows the system to remain running at full power (if he so desires), but turns off the Alien FX lights. I use it regularly when watching movies.

I tried Fn F11 but that doesn't turn off the lights around the mouse pad.

Right click the alien head in the taskbar and de-select "keep status zones on during go dark" and then when you fn+f11 it will turn off all the lights. (except the power cord light , which at times can be pretty strong)

Good point Myxcon. I changed that when I first got the system & forgot that the default setting was for the touch pad LED to remain on.
