    hi !

    I've made an clean setup.

No problem untill the Graphic Card installation.

In fact the system detect an....Intel 3000 and the nvidia...

Then i've 2 graphic card installed.

I know the real one is the nvidia, but impossible to install only this one.

I've try to remove the intel, and that's remove all GC...

If i remove the intell, reboot, and try to install the nvidia, the system ask me to install Intel before...

I Begin to become totaly crazy

    Any ideas ?

    You need to install both.

Install Intel display drivers first, reboot, then install Nvidia drivers after, to take advantage of Optimus feature. (and it's required anyways)

Nvidia Optimus is an optimization technology created by Nvidia to save battery life by automatically switching the power of the graphics processing unit (GPU) off when it is not needed and switching it on when needed again. The technology mainly targets mobile PCs such as notebooks.[1] When the GPU power is off, the driver redirects graphics commands to the integrated graphics chip (e.g. Intel GMA).

Is this always automatic? Is there a way to make a manual switch? I just did a fresh install last night and thats the first time I encountered that (automatic switching). I was also confused as the OP. But before that, my laptop is always running on discreet GPU even when I'm just on the desktop screen. I only had my laptop since the 16th and I haven't seen it running under Intel GPU until last night after I put a new SSD.
