    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good lap tray for playing games on the sofa. Obviously it needs to be a good size for the M17X, and also have an area for the mouse.
A couple of years ago I paid a local wood working shop to make me a board out of plywood for my old M1730, and although it is very heavy, it has done me very well.

I would ideally like to get a lighter (Probably plastic) one now though

    Any ideas?

PS. I did a search on the forum for lap trays but couldn't find anything specific to the M17X

    Thanks

You know what I use? A large cutting board from Walmart. It’s simple and it works great, and cheap too. You can get them in plastic or wood. They are light and easy to move around and sit flat when you set it down for a second while you move or whatever. You can also use a cooling stand if you want, you can drill holes and mount cable management loops if you want.

Maybe not as elegant of a solution but has served me well for many laptops or many years.

    Thanks guys,

I guess I was looking for something a little more elegant than a chopping board, and am unlikely to play games in bed.

The wooden board I had made for me a couple of years ago is rectangle (Where the lappie sits), and also has a piece sticking out on the right hand side for a mouse. I was wondering if there are any lap trays big enough for the M17X with a purpose built area for the mouse.

It's strange, I have spent hours surfing the net for an M17x lap tray with room for a decent mouse, but can't find anything. Maybe the tray manafacturers are missing a trick here

    Cheers

The link I gave was to a thread about trays/desks similar to what you are asking for. A tray large enough to hold a 17" laptop are commonly called "lap desks" or "bed trays", but beds are not required to use them. ;)

I am currently sitting in my recliner, typing this post on my M17x-R2, while it is sitting on the $30.00 bed tray I mentioned in that thread. My mouse is sitting on the right side of the tray, beside the M17x.
