    M17x order issues and problems and I don't even have my laptop yet !

    I ordered M17x-R2 on february 5th and my EDD was feb. 24th.. I got an e-mail on 22nd saying it was delayed and would be shipped by march 1st... now my EDD is showing N/A and i'm getting really pissed off.....

    Did this already happen to anyone?

    I was wondering if any else had issues.

    I ordered an M17xR2 on 2/7 after returning R3. The original edd was 2/18, the sales rep said that it shouldn't take that long and I got next day delivery. On 2/18 the edd was delayed until 2/21. On 2/21 it was delayed until 2/28. Today I called them, knowing that 2/28 won't be met, since it hasn't left. The rep said that it will be looked into and I'll receive an e-mail by Tuesday 3/1. Are the edd just guesses? I thought Dell was suppose to have this "state of art" parts inventory system which gives them instantaneous order versus inventory status?

    I've ordered many PCs from them and have never seen this before.

    Same boat here, ordered on 2/7, ship date when I ordered was 2/21 and EDD was 2/28. Called in after the order never shipped and was told (after 3 calls over 3 days all being answered by the same person) that it must have been delayed, she told me that it should ship early next week and be delivered by the end of the week but I'm not holding my breath.

    I was tempted to cancel the order as I have been looking at an Asus G73 series as well, I would rather have the m17x but it does me no good sitting in Dells factory. Problem is that Dell will not cancel orders that are "In Production" so they move orders to this status and then leave people in limbo unable to do anything for a month or longer. The only option I have is to wait for it to be delivered and then return it and eat the shipping cost of 100 and some dollars.

    I have sent an email voicing my complaints to dell and requesting more info as to what is going on and when to expect this to be cleared up (Since talking to the rep on the phone, based out of god knows where, was like talking to a brick wall) but again I'm not holding my breath.

    I have bought Dell before, in fact every laptop I've owned has been a Dell but at this point I am not overly impressed with them.

    yea mine is supposed to ship early next week too..... i'm pretty sure it won't...im really disappointed

    Why dont you call and talk to a sales rep to check status? I ask this because nowhere in your posts you mention calling. You do realize that the automated system is incorrect at times, right? ;)

    Give them a call and ask what the status is. This might even expedite the ship date. :eek:

    I guess my phone calls shook the wrong trees, a couple hours after calling they changed my EDD to 3/11. Fourth delay and three weeks after original EDD.

    My friend received his R2 on 22nd. It was sooner than EDD.
