Hi guys. Love this forum, read it all the time and this is my first post.

I just bought a used M17x from craigslist, seller gave me all documentation and boxes w/ Alienware OS CD but no driver cd because he said he misplaced it. I didn't think anything of it because I was thinking, "I can just get the drivers online!" But, I'm having the worst luck. There's a few Unknown Device/Base System Device/Network Controller drivers that aren't digitally signed and I can't update them at all. I've tried installing both M17x WiFi drivers and none of them work.

    My M17x specs are:
    i7 720
    HD 4870 Xfire
    4 GB DDR3
    200GB Hard Drive

Any help is appreciated. If there's a similar post to this one on a different thread, I apologize.

    Thank you.

Did you install the Intel chipset driver before everything else? This is very important as you really can't install / have most drivers work for your M17x without it.

I have the chipset driver installed now because I just reformatted. Should I install the HalfMini card driver now?

Install the 4870 driver instead of the 5870 driver/VBIOS. Definitely don't install the VBIOS. That's the only difference.

Which Wi-Fi card do you have? Are you sure it's the half-mini card?

Mine is the Intel 6300 and the half-mini card drivers won't run.
