I got the dual 260s in SLI currently overclocked alittle bit :) (585/1000/1600) I noticed in HWiNFO32 a big difference in temps. Sounds like both fans are running. Card #1 is alot hotter then card #2. Almost 40 degrees difference with same overclock! Is there an app that lets you see how fast the GPU fans are spinning? Additionally, could I overclock card #2 a bit more and see some improvement or do they have to be the same clock speeds? Anyways heres a shot of HWiNFO32:

I have the same cards as you do and have also seen this before. Make sure the program you are running to test the overclock has an sli profile because it looks to me like only one card is being used which would explain the massive temperature gap.

Also the cards have to be at the same clock because that is they will only function together at the lower cards speed, i.e. if one is at 600 and the other at 585 they will both run at 585. The same applies to the rest of the clocks.

as mentioned above your secondary gpu is showing idle temperatures so probably sli isn't working

Yep, will agree. Not running SLI. Can easily verify this with the SLI indicator from the NVidia control panel, but those are definitely a full bore vs. idle temp.

I believe I have SLI enabled, I have the little SLI claw in my task bar:

and here are my settings in control panel:

One thing I did notice is that HWiNFO32 reported different clocks for both cards. I know I put in the same clocks in the overclock utility.

    very puzzling?!

Enable the SLI meter under 3D Settings and see what it shows. Try EVGA and see what it reports, too. Either HWInfo32 is wrong, you're not running in SLI, or your sensor is shot.

What is EVGA, All I ever know about EVGA is that it is a video card manufacturer.

    FIXED IT.

Temps are now in about 3-4 degrees from each other
What I did was update the bios. I originally had A00 and noticed that A04 was the newest.

I know I should have updated a long time ago but I come from the school of if it aint broke don't fix it.

Either way its fixed. Thanks to all who helped!
