I just checked, and the dual 5870s are available via the Dell US site. However, the 940XM is not.

For some reason, a number of other markets have got the i7-x40 processors, but the US market is stuck on the i7-x20s. I don't know why this is, or how long it's going to take.

I would recommend just getting the i7-920XM instead. There's very little difference in clock speed, and you probably won't even notice it.

IMO I would buy the cheaper CPUs from Dell and upgrade to the 940 yourself

unless it a big time sell, Dell over charges for upgrade options.

Just keep the old part for warranty issues.

The 920 and 940 are the same chip. the only differance is that the 940 runs default at Multiplier of 25 and the 920 runs at a defauly multiplier of 24. With throttle stop you can just raise the multiplier and you have two identical chips. Infact my 920 has been a better overclocker then my 940. the 920 is what I use for all the top benches. I really don't see the hype over the 940, even though I have both chips.
