    Hello!!
there is a guy on ebay selling gtx 470m (new) cards for 99.00 bucks incluiding shipping and gtx 480m for 175.00 . Is there a possibility that these cards can be installed on a M17x r2 . at that prices the cards are good bang for the buck specially the gtx 470m . Maybe the downside is the power consumption. Also i am wondering if gtx 470m sli is better than cf 5870m , both configurations cost the same. I know that someone already installed gtx 460m sli but i never seen any information about these two gpus running on the r2.

Thanks in advance for your help !! :)

I don't think anybody has tried the 470M either in the M17x R2.
For those prices perhaps you can be the 1st!

The 480m is a gigantic power hog just to warn you, it uses a much larger core with disabled units.

yeah it consumes 100w each gpu  i think the best option is to try the gtx 470m sli . i know for a fact the m15x can handle one 470m and it uses the same processor family as the m17x r2.

but still dont have information on how it performs compared to the 5870m cf

    Edit:

Just found out gtx 460m sli is almost the same as 5870m crossfire :)

so in theory gtx 470m sli should be slightly better !!

    Edit 2:

there is one user that installed one 470m into an m17x r2 :)
