So last night I had to print something out. The printer is in a different room so i fully disconnected my laptop and went to print what I needed to print. After i was done i closed the lid while the laptop was still on and carried the laptop back to my room under my arm. So i get to my room and lift the screen. The keyboard and buttons all light up but, the screen does not light up. Now I've had problematic with sleep mode never working properly when the lid was closed know this laptop so i figured it was nothing. I unplugged the laptop and battery then held the power button for 20 seconds. Now when i put the battery back in the laptop won't power on from the battery. It has a full charge too. If i connected the power cord the keyboard and lights will come on but, the screen won't turn on.

Anyone have any idea what happened? Or ideas what i can try to revive my laptop?

Remove the battery, open the bottom cover. Near the Cpu Fan connector there is another connector for the coin battery. Detach it. Keep the power button depressed for 10 -15 seconds then reconnect the coin battery and put everything back togheter. Upon first boot enter the bios and set date, time and your configuration, since it will be resetted to default.

    This should fix your problem

OMG that happened to me after installing 12.1 preview drivers. I actually went to power setting to manaully change the settings for "closing the lid." I just randomly set different things. And only after then, did sleep mode and all worked fine.

My issue was when I tried to run external monitor with lid closed.

It did fix it! ;) SOOOOOOOO happy I don't have to get this thing serviced or get a new one. I refuse to lose my 1920x1200 screen. :D

I have the A10 Bios. Why do you ask?

    Aaaaaannnnndddd rep for you.

Scared the hell out of me. I was at work all day worrying the above method wouldn't work. I recently installed the ati 6970m and 8gigs of ram so I'm in no shape to replace the laptop. Nor do I want to.

Yeah I still have that glitch. Really don't understand why but, I try to avoid doing so while my laptop is on. Now I never gonna close it because of what just happened. lol. Think I might try turning off sleep when the lip is closed. See if that does anything for me.
