I just received my M17x r2 from Dell Outlet, but receive the following error message upon starting it. "a clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval" It has some solutions, but they all involve booting the laptop in safe mode, something I don't have access to. This is my first time starting the computer so the OS isn't set up completely. I tried to get in contact with Alienware, but I have no idea where to get my account number to set up an account. Thanks for any help you can offer!

You do have the OS though, right? I mean, it is present on the machine? Is it corrupted? I assume you know about the boot options and BIOS access (those don't require disks.) Edit: To boot from a disk DOES require one (of course) but I meant that you can go through the BIOS without a disk to start in safe mode. Sorry if I said that wrong. Perhaps you have an OS but not all drivers installed?

To boot into safe mode just keep hitting F8 after pushing the start button (alien head).
You will then get a bunch of options, just choose safe mode.
Or, you may want to go back to dell/alienware stock so you would just keep hitting F10 after the power button.
    Then choose restore.

He's saying its not even stock yet, he is still in windows setup. F8 wont help here. This is a generic processor error. Either the CPU or the secondary videocard is shot.
In short - send it back and get another. You dont need the account number, just use the service tag number.
