    M17x r3 6990m upgrade to 7970m vs 680m?

    Hey guys,

    I know I asked the same question in August but ended up procrastinating a bit and ended up waiting to see if any issues arouse on new games with either card as an upgrade on the M17x r3.

    As mentioned, I currently have a 6990m and looking to upgrade. Is there, 3 months later, any clearer defined option between the 7970m and 680m as to which one is the better choice? I know with the 680m I would have to also buy a new x-bracket and some modded drivers.

    Your opinions would be greatly appreciated!

    I'm actually getting decent FPS on AC: Unity (notoriously bad code!) after a large OC, +230mhz. Dunno how the 7970m hangs on that game though....
