I have already a desktop with a 6990 so you know people!
The use to this laptop is gonna be for lan and work at my jobb , it doesnt
Need to be portable since, im not moving it a lot maybe if i go vacations , etc

    M17x r2
    Dual 5870
    1920x1200 screen!

    M17x r3
    6970m
1920x1080 or maybe 3d depend how good it is

The thing is that , is two differents systems , i mean core i7 old and new generation so what should i choose? The r2 better video card but worse processor than the r3 :/ is make it hard!

Take the R2 for the build quality and RGB led screen. It is not as portable as the R3 though.

I used to face the same problem as you are as well warzeta.
After months of researching, finally I went with the R2, eventhough the processor is the 1st-gen i7, it is not that bad, plus the RGBLED is a awesome, and the Dual HD5870M crossfireX is still kicking. :)

Maybe you can read a review at tech inferno forum, they put M17x R2, R3 and M18x to the test!
