^ Tapakidney lol seriously, I'm pretty sure he's already done that and is here for second opinions.

SroieS - I'm using the Cooler master notepal U3 which comes with three adjustable fans. It runs pretty silent but isn't the most powerful cooler out there. On the bright side you can move the fans around to the hottest spots which is a winner for me. It's also a little more portable than other coolers. If you're not concerned about portability but need raw power, take a look at the NZXT Cryo. It's one of the most powerful coolers in the market (also looks pretty sick) but is also rather expensive.

EDIT: I have the Orion backpack too and fitting the U3 in is a bit of the chore. It fits fine if you take out the fans and put the M17x in the 'gap' left by the fans, but refitting the fans can be a pain. As long as you don't have much else to carry in the backpack you should be able to fit the cooler ( with fans still attached) and laptop along with the power brick, external mouse, headphones, etc.

I personally use the Gaming Chill pad from targus. It's pretty good quality, if you need any pricing info send us an e-mail to [email protected] and we'll take care of your request.

    X3 or U3 or Strom SF-19 ?
i really like that the Sf-19 got USB 3.0 hub, but i don't know if it better in the terms of cooling my system :)

Well, my point was that a simple Google search showed this exact same question answered numerous times, and with plenty of second opinions. I've been here for a long time and seen this exact same thread (M17X R3 and R4) started up no less than 15 times.

The link I already posted showed several threads that do exactly that... Guess you didn't click on it. Seriously, this topic has been discussed countless times, and is in the stickies as well, I believe.

    U3 all the way.

I have the Orion and it will fit in 'just', in the same compartment as the laptop however it does add a bit of strain to the zipper at it's bulkiest point, so not something I do often.

+1 for the U3 as well. I've been using it since day one with my R4 and it's solid. Fits the laptop great and the fan positioning is perfect, though I don't use them much. R4 doesn't really need it so i keep them on low all the time now. Speaking of which, you said yours is shutting down? What are your temps reaching? You might consider a repaste on your cpu/gpu if they're peaking. My gpu never goes over about 65c on full load and cpu at 78c under stress. Others here get much better temps than mine.

It's worth mentioning that the stock paste from Dell has increased in quality, but not consistency. Mine was gooped up to the hilt with paste and my temps improved vastly when I did it myself.

cooler mater notepal u3 is the best cheapest one, I use it and have about 5-7 degrees celsius temps overall, for both cpu and gpu.

i live in israel so there is no alienware support here...
and also i can't find anywhere that sell the U3 and Cyro the only one i find is the X3 and it's about 75$ .... so i want to know if it worth the money or to try to order from outside israel the U3 ?

86c is pretty high but I don't think it should be shutting down on you. Anyway here's the basic rundown of repasting the cpu, a video done by another NBR forum member:
