When ordering yesterday of Dell, the r4 was not listed, only m17x, m17xr3, and I think there was an m17xr2. Anyway, I ordered two 240 power adapters listed to work with the m17xr3.

After looking at them, they are all the same part #, however, only my recent alienware order, the 240watt power adapter that came with it is a different part number. BUT.... if I had ordered an extra power adapter with the laptop, it was yet ANOTHER part #. So... I am guessing that they are all the same and will work identically as 240watt power adapters for any m17x. Am I right? Surely a power adapter isn't that 'special'.

    Thanks,

    Rob

The different part numbers are due to Dell/Alienware using different manufacturers for the same power supply unit. They will all work exactly the same in use.
