hey guys, i'm wondering how scratch resistant the m17x r3 screen is, and what it is made out of. My m14x has some type of plastic over the screen thats really easy to scratch. Thanks!

lol don't test the screens, my guess is they scratch fairly easily. I know my M15x does, stupid trackpad!

Tbh i dont think its glass, most likely just plastic/plexi. I believe it is replaceable.

My R3 was new on 5/01/11, it has never left the house and I use a shaggy mac chamois type cloth laying on the keyboard before closing the lid. I do not have any scratches that I can see.

It seems pretty durable, but as noted above, I wouldn't test it!

For my M15x I just place 2 pieces of paper towels just big enough to cover the laptop (from power button to the front grills). Never had a problem/scratch on it. I do swap out the paper towels every so often if they look as though they are getting dirty.
