Hello guys i am waiting to order an m17x with 680m and 3d , but i want to make sure it will be suitable for me .
i have the m11x r3 atm great little laptop but i like games with all bells and whistle on them , so the m11 wont cut it .
Also the m11x screen is really quite poor the viewing angles are shocking .
I had the m15x before but found it to heavy to lug around airports etc .
SO as title will the m17x suit me , i know the old m15x was abit heavy but i have the told the new m17x is abit lighter ?

Google shows M15X weighs 4.08Kg and M17X weighs around 5.3Kg. So no, M17X is not suitable for you, at least in terms of portability.

No 3d, but runs Diablo3 maxed and BF3 mostly maxed.

You will find the 17 huge, but if I were you, I'd get it and deal with it anyway. You want power, you want 3d. Size and weight are pretty much a given with those 2 requirements.

If you like games with bells and whistles on them then you are not going to be able to do that with the 650m of the M14x. If you can barely cut it now, then you won't be able to in a few months, especially with all the FPS titles set for Q3/4. I would suggest the M17x. If you have the M11 then as a suggestion, why don't you use that when you are on the go and use the M17x when you are at home? Do you play video games at airports or in the aircraft/hotel?

Really? According to notebookcheck it can only played at high on a 650m and that's just barely 30 FPS.

Just saying based on what many in the m14X forum have said. They turn most things up to ultra, some things down to high. Many of them have it OC'd, and it's not like notebookcheck is the gospel.

Personally, I play BF3 on my 17X - why play it non-maxed when you can play it max maxed? So, I have no firsthand experience. :)

Technically it does, but there are significant slowdowns, especially when the action gets heated. I wouldn't call the performance "optimal" by any stretch.
