I've got a refurbed M17x R2 with dual 5870s that seems to have a couple of issues.

In the cutscenes of the Mass Effect 2 demo and the Duke Nukem Forever demo, it lost vertical hold a few times. The DNF demo was much worse. Oddly enough it was fine in actual gameplay in both games, only the cutscenes seemed to be affected. Like this:

I ran HWinfo32 while playing the ME2 demo and the primary graphics card hit 91 degrees. I ran Furmark and it made the primary card hit 98 degrees. When the machine is idling on the dsktop the primary graphics card hovers between 50-60 degrees with the seconday at about 40.

I've had it about four months but only recently started to try games on it, so I guess it could have picked up some dust. In normal use the machine is absolutely fine, rock solid.

My questions are, should I be worried about the temperatures, and what can I do about the vertical hold issues? Should I call Dell as the machine is still in warranty?

Thanks for any advice, this is my first experience with a multi-GPU setup of any kind, so I'm not quite sure what to do.

i was having difficulty with my 5870m cf's for the past few weeks check my post from yesterday their was a few things to try that could fix problems, Check u are running the new drivers 11.8 CCC from ATI and use the 11.8 Cap 3 i think is the new one. may fix problems. do a full uninstall reinstall of drivers.

also check ur stealth mode isnt enabled. go to ur command center and check that full power mode is all enabled. Even if stealth mode says disabled download the stealthmodedetection tool its all on this forum jst google it. i found my system was still showing the system in stealth mode even though i had disabled it in Command center. i fixed this and my 3dmark vantage score jumped over 3k.

Also make sure that crossfire is enabled in CCC and that you have set all your 3D settings correctly.
