    M17x wont recognize ac adapter or charge battery

    I just recently purchased a used m17x with no battery or power supply. After buying the wrong battery once and the wrong ac adapter twice, I have finally got the correct battery and a 240w 19.5 volt 12.3 amp ac adapter. Unfortunately it still will not recognize the ac adapter which results in the computer booting in stealth mode and it won't charge the battery. I even installed the appropriate windows 7 that came with my computer and when I try to update the drivers for my gtx280m's it says that the drivers are not compatible with my version of Windows. I contribute this to the ac adapter issue. If anyone knows how I can get this problem resolved or knows which ac adapter I need to purchase, please help.
