    Hey everyone,

My battery was charging just fine.....until I upgraded to the new command center on the dell website.

Now the battery just says PLUGGED IN,NOT CHARGING. I saw some other threads regarding this but didn't find them of much help!

Can someone please help me out with DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS.... going on a holiday and need the battery to be fully charged!!!

On the advanced settings of the power plan it says the:-

    Low battery- 10%
    Critical Battery- 5%
    Reserve Battery-7%

    Thanks,
    Darthmaniac

    Do a power drain:
    Unplug the power cord
    Remove the battery
Press&hold the power button for 20sec.
    Place the battery back
    Plug the power
    Turn it on
    Should help! ;)

When you say Fn+F2 what icon should I switch to?

    1)The almost empty battery

    2)The 'full' battery

3)The empty battery with a slash across?

    Thanks,

    Darthmaniac

I'm also trying your method Aikimox!!!

    Hey Aikimox,

So this may sound stupid but during the power drain the laptop is supposed to be shut off...right???

And is anything supposed to happen during the power drain??? ( FLASHING LIGHTS or something)

    The laptop should be OFF!
    No power cord, no battery!
After holding the power button depressed for 20sec, you can put the battery back, plug the power cord and turn it on.
